The project ‘Blindsmyth’ evolved from an artistic examination of his internal and external surroundings, which are the source of his inspiration and are represented in his music by numerous field recordings. Blindsmyth is exploring sound and space in order to create something new, using his impressions and recordings. His sound spectrum ranges from impulsive and groovy to experimental and dreamy. Therefore his music cannot be labeled or limited to one niche.

The 10 track debut album from Blindsmyth ‘Blind’ takes the listener on an emotonial voyage through deep electronic soundscapes, delicate organic beats, and expressive vocals. It is not only his full length debut but also the first album to be released on the young Cosmic Society label.

The realization of the album came after Blindsmyth’s return to the studio, where he started writing, based on the captured material, eventually adding acoustic instruments. Instruments like the bass clarinet, duduk, guitar, and bass guitar provided the acoustic echoes on the album. The electronic vibes followed, created by organic drum sounds and warm pads, and was often derived from the many field recordings and captured sounds. As a finally touch, Blindsmyth’s own distinctive vocals were added to the mix – deepening the texture. The final result borrows from the rhythmic energy of house and slow techno infused with classical pop- and folksong structures combining the whole with the layered atmospheres of ambient, dub and post rock.
